BIOGRAPHY

Albuquerque studied at the Music Conservatory at the Institute of Fine Arts in Porto Alegre, and was trained in violin by Oscar Simm. He studied harmony with John Schwartz Filho and was a pianist in popular music groups in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. He worked as an arranger for the Radio Broadcast of Porto Alegre, was professor of composition, instrumentation, counterpoint, and fugue at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a founding member of the Brazilian Society for Contemporary Music. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Music, he held the Chair No. 10.
