BIOGRAPHY

Edino Krieger had violin classes with his father at seven years old. He studied with Hans Joachim Koellreutter, Aaron Copland, Peter Mennin, William Nowinsky and Lennox Berkeley, in schools such as Juilliard (New York) and the Royal Academy of Music (London). He took part in festivals in Latin America and received the Certificate of Award of the Metropolitan Board of Trade (Washington). In Brazil, he worked as conductor and assistant musical director at the National Symphonic Orchestra; he created the Contemporaneous Brazilian Music Biennial, directed the National Institute of Music and, in 1994, was elected for the Brazilian Academy of Music. He received the Carlos Gomes medal of merit, the Shell Award and the National Music Award from the Ministry of Culture.
